Job Role: Photography Instructor - freelance

Freelance Photography teacher wanted to join our team!

 

Job Profile

• Provide outdoor 1to1 and 1to2 photography lessons across Kent.

• Work based on your availability. We will offer dates out to a pool of photographers so there is no minimum commitment or pressure.

• Average number of days a month will be 0-10 days.

• A working day lasts for 6 hours.

• The course is split into roughly 70% technical and 30% creative.

 

Requirements:

• Own a vehicle and be willing to travel across Kent.

• Be a competent photographer. Formal qualifications are preferred but we appreciate that some photographers are self taught - the proof is in your portfolio!

• Must be willing to work weekends and weekdays if possible. The majority of our lessons are on weekends.

• Be comfortable teaching all aspects of Photography. Our classes aim to get our students comfortably shooting on full manual within 6 hours. The majority of our students are complete beginners.

• Skilled in using all camera makes and models. Students are encouraged to bring their own cameras and you will be expected to know exactly how to use their menu system prior to the lesson starting - lots of PDF manual reading!

• Enjoy meeting new people.

• Own a Professional camera. If you have a second camera that can be lent out to students for the 1to1 lessons then that is a bonus.

Application requirements

• CV (max 2 pages)

• Cover letter with why you are interested in the job (max 1 page). Include your salary expectations for a 6 hour day.

• Portfolio. To be presented as either a url link or on a cover sheet - max 9 Images showing a variety of styles.

• Film a short 5-10 minute video where you explain how aperture priority mode works to a complete beginner. This is so we can get a feel for your teaching style and ability. The footage does not need to be edited at all and can be filmed on a smartphone. Please we really mean no editing we just want to see what your natural teaching style is.
